I am a woman of many eyeshadow palettes and yet I have never tried anything from Sleek in terms of eye products, until recently that is. Very recently I may add, until Thursday past. I was sent their new eyeshadow palette by Cloud10Beauty to try and review, and I literally could not wait for the weekend to start playing with it. The new Sleek Autumn 2013 collection comprises this gorgeous 12 shades eyeshadow palette plus a blusher called 'Antique Blush' which I wasn't all that keen in trying to be honest, since I am not a fan of their 'Rose Gold' blusher in terms of formula and texture, which by all means has nothing to do with it I know, but I just wasn't interested in that.
Now the eyeshadow palette, is a whole different story if you ask me...
RRP: 9.99 Euro
The compact is, well, very sleek as the name of the brand would suggest, perfect for travelling and has a certain vibe of good quality about it, which I very much like.
Twelve gorgeous shades are housed in the palette:
TOP ROW, L to R: - Pretty in Paris, Meet in Madrid, Court in Cannes, Lust in LA, Romance in Rome, Propose in Prague
BOTTOM ROW, L to R: - A Vow in Venice, Marry in Monte Carlo, Honeymoon in Hollywood, Bliss in Barcelona, Forever in Florence, Love in London
Now the names of the shades are obviously very cool but difficult to remember if you ask me, not that it matters in any shape or form. The palette also comes with a double ended sponge applicator, which is of course a *bit* handy but also quite useless in the same time, since we're in the era of make-up brushes.
Swatches: - shades in the same order as above
The palette has one completely matte eyeshadow in finish, three matte with flexes of glitter running through them, two iridescent shades and the rest (six) are all satin and shimmery in finish and formula. Regardless of their texture, they're all extremely pigmented, perhaps except the iridescent shades which require a bit of a double/treble dipping in order to get a good result out of them.
I tried the top row eyeshadows yesterday, the more neutral row of shades for a more wearable make-up look, and I tried the bottom row of shades today, for a more dramatic, night time kind of look. So here's how they look on me:
NEUTRALS - TOP ROW
DARKS - BOTTOM ROW
Side Note: I don't know if it's just my PC or anything, but the photos above look blurred and rather photoshopped to me. They're not by the way. I used Pic-Monkey as a Collage Editor and that was it.
I found the Sleek Vintage Romance palette to be absolutely gorgeous, impressive in pigmentation, fabulous in terms of shades and beautiful in its lasting abilities. The eyeshadows last all day, given that they are used on an eyeshadow base - in my case the Urban Decay Primer Potion. There is literally something in there for everyone, darks, neutrals, berries. I am also quite impressed with the quality of these for they cause no fall-outs upon application. And how about that price??? Crazy-ness, I tell you!
All in all, I think Cloud10Beauty has just hit the nail on the head with me with this palette, since now I am very much inclined to investigate more and search for another one that I could love just as much.
The Sleek i-Divine Vintage Romance Palette is available to purchase now at 9.99Euro, on Cloud10Beauty.com
