Today I'm going to introduce to you two of my latest weekend staples from Smashbox, the Waterproof Shadow Liner in 'Luminous Fig' and their Be Legendary Lipstick in 'Cognac'. I admit that during weekends I take more time with my make-up routine as opposed to weekdays when one eyeshadow (and sometimes none), a lip balm and a good base will do the trick. On weekends I experiment.
That being said, ever since receiving these two products in my goodie bag at the Smashbox Christmas collection launch, I must confess there's not much experimenting going on with my looks...with products other than Smashbox and these two in particular, of course. Not to mention that their Photo Set Finishing Powder is my go-to setting powder, and their Photo Finish Dark Spot Corrector is a fantastic base and I use them all the time!
First, the Waterproof Shadow Liner in Luminous Fig is my absolute dream when it comes to eyeliners, this chubby pencil is as long lasting as 'long lasting' can get, highly pigmented and creamy. It's fabulous both applied on the eyelids and on the waterline, it blends beautifully and it stays put better than a powder eyeshadow. Disregarding the fact than I soon need to purchase a good and suitable sharpener to sharpen this bad boy, I simply adore this product. The shade is pure perfection for my eye colour and for 22 Euro , I would not hesitate to purchase this myself, given the fact that I will actually find a sharpener for its chubby width. This is available in five other beautiful shades, but I find it hard to believe that any of the other shades would beat this one to be honest.
Step 1: - Apply 'Luminous Fig' on the entire mobile eyelid as a base
Step 2: - Apply same product on the lower lash line and waterline, and blend
Step 3: - Apply a warm shade eyeshadow above the crease up to the brow bone (trick learnt from Janine Bird - National Make-up Coach for Smashbox) & a lighter eyeshadow shade under the eyebrows and inner corners as highlight
Step 4: - Apply 'Luminous Fig' at the outer corners (V shape) to create a more elongated effect to the eyes
Step 5: - Apply mascara, and lots of it :)
My second 'weekend favourite' is the Be Legendary Lipstick by Smashbox in 'Cognac'. I'm really into brown, rose and bronze shades for lips and I have plenty in my collection to prove it, however this is such an outstanding colour, I find it really hard to describe it in words. What I can say however is that again it's a highly pigmented product, a creamy and moisturising formula, very long lasting and it has a classic shiny finish. This retails at 19 Euro and it's again well worth the investment should the shade be the suitable one.
My weekend face ;)
