Fist of, why a 'Brand Focus' post from me today? It's simple, I love this brand a lot and having five products in my current fragrance collection that look delicious on my goodies shelf, I thought I'll introduce to some of you that might not be familiar with the brand yet, my thoughts on the scents that I have, which in all fairness were mostly sent to me for consideration purposes, by the brand's PR rep. While this latest statement of mine would raise some eyebrows amongst you, if you know me and know my blog, you would already be aware by now of the fact that I always review what I want and I do so in full honesty, and that I never write anything in dishonesty...at least I hope that this is how I come across to you when reading my posts and reviews.
Now that my intro and disclaimer are out of the way, let us proceed...
The main reason I love the Roger & Gallet scents is because everything I have in my collection is far from sickly sweet and overpowering, everything is fresh, light, citrusy and subtle. I'm overpowering enough (ahem!) without any scents to take that away from me and I like my scents to have a trace of clean and fresh in them.
EAU DES BIENFAITS - Fragrant Body Mist
Notes:
Blood Orange, Mandarin, Bergamot and Lemon Essential Oils,
Violet Leaves, Orange Blossom, Cedar and Patchouli
I reviewed the Eau des Binefaits last summer here, and to this day I find it hard to explain how much I adore this scent. It's by far my favourite summer scent along with Agatha Ruiz De La Prada's Gotas de Color, I want to bathe in it and because it's a Fragrant Body Mist and not a perfume, I actually *can* almost bathe in it. The scent lingers for hours on my skin and it instantly makes me feel alive. Corny, yet so true!
GINGEMBRE - Fresh Fragrant Water
Notes:
Japanese Ginger, Neroli, Bergamot, Jamaican Ginger, Ambrette, Musk
Yet another sparkling and invigorating scent from Roger & Gallet, Gingembre opens with fresh notes of Bergamot and Japanese Ginger, very fresh and quite masculine to my nose. Because of it's masculine side, Gingembre feels sporty, like the perfect pick-me up, post shower olfactive experience, it's quite similar with the Eau des Bienfaits in terms of the clean feeling it gives upon application.
This one dries a bit sweeter than Eau des Bienfaits, while keeping its ginger spiciness well in place for hours. It's a warm and comforting all round seasonal scent in my opinion, I could wear this throughout the entire year.
EAU SUBLIME OR Bois D'Orange - Fresh Fragrant Water
Notes:
Bergamot, Mandarin, Orange, Lyslang, Moorea Coconut Flower, Orange Blossom
Wood, Vanilla, Musk
This is a summer knock-out, a warm and exotic scent, the sheer definition of summer evenings and long walks on the beach. With the obvious presence of the ever so comforting orange blossom scent, the Eau Sublime Or is like a fresh fizzy drink, ever so feminine and mass pleasing in my opinion.
This particular formula is packed with flecks of gold, perfect for a touch of summer glow on a tanned (or not so tanned) body.
HUILE SUBLIME Bois D'Orange - Perfumed Dry Oil
Composition:
Mandarin, Orange and Bigarade Petitgrain Essential Oils, Orange Flower,
Jasmin and Atlas Cedar
Huile Sublime is a dry oil that can be used on the body, hair and face, and contains six active plant oils for beauty purposes, orange essential oil for toning and Vitamin E for antioxidant properties.
I mostly use this on my body in the summer days or as a post-shower treat on dull evenings, and sometimes on my hair. I must confess that I don't have the courage to use it on my face despite it being a non comedogenic and safe to use on sensitive skin product.
ROSE IMAGINAIRE - Fresh Fragrant Water
Notes:
Tangerine, Strawberry, Jasmine, Violet, Sandalwood and Patchouli
And finally, the most impressive and surprising scent from Roger & Gallet in my opinion, Rose Imaginaire is basically an imitation of the sensual rose scent without one rosebud being 'sacrificed' in the process. This by all means is the most intriguing fragrant water of all, it smells simply DIVINE!
I cannot and shall not attempt to describe this in words, it's a scent that you should and must try on your own, even if you're not a self confessed rose fan. It's the sheer definition of femininity and delicacy, so pleasant with the right amount of sweetness to it, it embodies a beautiful olfactive symphony and it's ode to a rose.
A thing I must point out here is the genius pick of colour for the bottle, the perfume itself smells like the colour and its derived shades would suggest, in my humble opinion- delicious!
For the grand finale, I leave you in the company of some stunning visuals for the Rose Imaginaire,
the first one being a photo from my personal collection:
Fantastic visuals for Rose Imaginaire
I simply had to share these...
Have you tried anything from Roger & Gallet?

They sounds really lovely, especially the dry oil! It's funny when I was a kid in France, Roger Gallet had that 'old lady' reputation. They've upped their game!
Yep, I would imagine they have, since these all smell divine and not at all powdery or florally strong xx
Gorgeous visuals indeed! I'm a bit R&G fan too and have my sights set on Gingembre - it sounds perfect!
