It's that time of the year again! A new collection created by Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director for Yves Saint Laurent Cosmetics, will land in stores on June 21st and boy this looks exciting! And how could *this* not be exciting? I mean, the name of the collection only, plus just take a look at this beautiful visual:
 |
| Man I need a holiday, asap! |
*Her* delicious YSL jewellery and *his* nicely polished shoes aside, the model's make-up here is just perfection! I am also a woman who wears the slap at the poolside/beach, so I can totally see where she is coming from :).
The following press samples are only part of the 'Swimming Pool' collection, please click
here for a full run-down of new products and shades, including new Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks, nail polishes and eyeshadow quads. This post would have been endless should I have featured these in as well :).
I shall start with
'Terre Saharienne Collector', an iconic bronzing powder showing a python print for this season, with an SPF of 12, and available in three different harmonies of shades,
'1-Tanned',
'1- Sunkissed' and
'3- Bronzed'. I received
'No. 3 Bronzed', which is a perfect contouring trio, having a matte finish in shades that are not too brown and not too orange, the perfect combo to sculpt and bronze one's visage.

Next is
Dessin Du Regard Waterproof Eye Pencil in
'Luminescent Gold' and
'Azure Blue' .

RRP: €26.00

These are the creamiest, most pigmented stuff ever, and the waterproof formula is just an added bonus. They come with a posh pencil sharpener as well, which is always handy. Seriously now, these two shades are the bomb.
'Luminescent Gold' is exactly what it says on the 'tin', a pure Cleopatra gold (the way I like to call it) and it's the ideal summer shade, used either as a base or eyeliner. Same goes to 'Azure Blue', a beautiful electric blue - shown above in one layer application only! I haven't worn these properly yet, so I can't tell for the moment if they really live up to their 'waterproof' name, but will report back, rest assured :).
This collection also brings three new shades of the
Golden Gloss to the market, and all three are gold / bronze based. My press sample is
No. 53 - Golden Pearl .

RRP: €30.00

Now if you follow my blog for some time now, you may already know that I don't wear lip glosses, no Sir! So when I saw this, I was like
'meh!', but to be completely honest...this is only gorgeous! Tiny flexes of lavender glitter run through it, and this looks absolutely delicious on the lips. You can actually feel the glitter on your lips when you run your lips together, which can feel a bit tingly, but other than that it's a beautiful summer lip gloss, and I am gonna wear it this season, oh yes I am! And it also smells like mango -
Bingo!
Now off to the most interesting piece of the collection, the Volume Effect Faux Cils Waterproof Mascara in 'No. 5 - Golden Sand'.

Yes people, it's golden! When I look at this, I can quickly imagine a bronzed brunette with dark green eyes and a Victoria Secret model-esque figure at the poolside wearing nothing but a golden lip gloss and this golden mascara. But how exactly is this suitable for mere mortals like ourselves? Well, it doesn't look half bad, but still, one has to be tanned to pull this off in my opinion. This product screams tan, summer and sun, so you won't be seeing Ms. Paley McPalerson here wearing this unless I'm sporting a good old tan :). And of course, I shall be trying this on top of a black mascara, to add a bit of oomph to my eyelashes, so will see how it performs in this particular fashion.

So there you have it, apologies for the multitude of photos enclosed, I just couldn't help myself :).
Anything caught
your eye yet?
Yours, ArtDonatella

Oh Mags, both liners are fantastic, but Azure Blue just tops it, the most stunning shade ever, and I don't even like blue in general :)!x
