Y.S.L. 'L'Homme' Perfume Collection

I am extremely picky about my scents and this goes the same when it comes to my man and his perfumes. So as it is, I always pick and buy him his perfumes while he in turn, buys  my perfumes (usually the ones I picked out beforehand, but still ;)).

There is a particular range of perfumes that I absolutely adore for him and that is the Yves Saint Laurent 'L'Homme' collection. He has four from the range at the moment,  and I plan on repurchasing the original bottle for him soon, which ran out on 'us' recently :(.

Oh glorious bunch!!!!

YSL L'Homme

I bought this for hubs back in 2007, being launched in 2006.

Top notes: Ginger, Bergamot, Lemon
Middle Notes: Spices, White Pepper, Basil, Violet Leaf
Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Tahitian Vetiver, Cedar

This is the one I need to repurchase and it's the most elegant and sophisticated scent ever. Very versatile, great for day but fabulous for night as well. It is very fresh and crispy, perfect for all occasions... It's bottled elegance if you ask me.

La Nuit De L'Home

Top notes: Cardamon
Middle notes: Bergamot, Virginia Cedar & Lavender
Base notes: Vetiver, Caraway

I bought this as soon as it hit the stores back in 2009. This is hands down the sexiest masculine scent I have ever smelt, it's definitely a sweet scent, and I can see some people finding it too overpowering. I for one cannot stop smelling this, it's such a mysterious, bold and sexy scent that my husband is not allowed to wear it in public without me (I may or may not be joking ;)). Ladies, if you're on the look for something sexy for your man, you must check out this one. It may not be for everyone's taste, but give this a sniff anyway the next time you're around the YSL counter.

L'Homme Libre

Top notes: Star Anise, Basil& Violet Leaf
Middle notes: Nutmeg & Pink Pepper
Base notes: Vetiver & Patchouli

Launched at the end of last year, this is more on the sporty side to me, very crispy and fresh, yet it still has a sweetness to it (Pink Pepper to my nose) without being too overpowering. Out of all the above this one is the spiciest , but still makes a fabulous day scent in my opinion. Translated: 'The free man'

La Nuit de L'Homme Frozen Cologne

Top notes: Lemon, Bergamot, Mandarin
Middle notes: Black Pepper, Geranium
Base notes: Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Cashmere

This one is fresh into stores now, being launched at the end of April. On application I can definitely sense the lemon and mandarin in its composition, which slowly then settles into a soft and elegant scent, with obvious traces of the  La Nuit in the dry down. If 'La Nuit De L'Homme' proves to be too much for your taste, this one is a more toned down version of it that still refrains the original sweetness, yet it's somehow not as noticeable. I just adore this scent and yes, my hubs can wear this in public without me (again, I may or may not be telling the truth here ;)). This is on counters now and retails at an RRP of 52 Euro for 60 ml.

'L'Homme Libre' and 'La Nuit De L'Homme Frozen Cologne' mentioned above are press samples sent for consideration purposes. All views expressed are 100% honest & more, I cannot praise this perfume range enough!!!

What is your favourite masculine scent? I would love to know :)).

Yours, ArtDonatella
