For me, Cate Blanchett in Givenchy couture...stunning!!! May be because I loooove Cate, amazing actress, I find her so beautiful (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), elegant and feminine, and her hair is gorgeous!!! But that dress, oh that dress...love EVERYTHING about it (especially the yellow beads) - OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Can't stop looking at it...literally!

Which was your winning Oscar gown?  I'm dying to know!!!

'Essence' Makeup

So, I was browsing through Dunnes Stores yesterday, when I stopped by the Essence makeup stand...I always do that because Essence is a very nice brand in my opinion, very cheap and sometimes very good! And they also bring out new collections every now and then, with very trendy colours & finishes.

This is what I bought:

Essence Sof Touch Mousse Make-Up '004 Matte Ivory'
3.99 Euros

Lipstick in '44 Almost Famous'
c. 2.49 Euros

Metallic Effect Eyeshadow in '35 Party All Night'
c. 1.99 Euros

Eyebrow Stylist Set
c. 2.99 Euros

Sorry, I threw away my receipt, but all in all, these are the approximate 'cheap as chips' prices, and here's how they look on.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Lipstick: - Sheer consistency, gorgeous strawberry colour with pink undertones, very moisturizing and feels so soft- it just glides on the lips. It has that slight scent/taste that our mother's lipsticks used to have back in the days, which might be a turn-off for some people -  I for one, happen to like this scent. I am absolutely loving it, I would imagine is not long lasting, but I will use it because I love everything about it. No complaints here!

Eyeshadow: - Gorgeous colour, exactly what I'm looking for in an eyeshadow. Creamy consistency, not gliterry but shimmery (hate glitter), very soft and easy to apply. Again, I don't know how long it will last on, I might come back to that later. Very happy with it so far!

Eyebrow Stylist Set: - It comes with a tiny brush that's stiff, but not hard (apologies, but how else could I describe it? ... such a dirty mind :)), very manageable - quite happy with it. The consistency of the 'eyeshadow' basically is matte (of course), soft and has just the right amount of pigmentation, so that you don't end up looking like a drag queen. It also has a set of three plastic eyebrow shapes that I won't be using, and instructions on how to use them. I am really happy with this too, it does the job, it comes in two shades (blond & brunette), and if I'll ever be blond it will come in handy :).

Mousse Foundation - did not try this one yet, I am actually not a fan of mousse consistencies, don't really know why I bought it...excitement does play some lousy tricks on you sometimes!

Very happy with my purchases, Essence is a great brand and frankly I don't see a lot of differences between this brand and say 'Rimmel' or 'Maybelline', I own a few stuff from them and their nail polishes come in great colours and shades, that will last on, just as well as the ones from other brands.

So thank you Essence- for just being you!
Do you own anything from them? I would love to know...

Revlon Matte 'Pink Pout'

I love the Revlon Matte lipstick collection...no secret there. I own three of them at the moment (Strawberry Suede, Pink About It and Pink Pout), but I reckon I will add soon :).

Pink Pout is a nude pink colour, matte of course, and fabulous! I am not a 'nude lipstick' kinda' girl, I love my colours / brights, but this one does the trick for me!

Now, I never mix my Revlon matte lipsticks with any other lip products, but I find that this particular shade works better when paired with perhaps a clear lipgloss, because of its chalky consistency. In this case, I paired it with my Calvin Klein lipglass in 'Dazzle'.

C.K. Lipglass 'Dazzle'

And the end result...

And a cheesy mug shot...

And that's all folks!

VINTAGE, Baby!

Looking forward to the weekend  - always am, but this Sunday I will be venturing into the world of vintage.  Love it!!!

Every last Sunday of each month, the Dublin Flea Market is taking place at the Co-Op, 12 Newmarket, Dublin 8 (11 am - 5pm). I always try to attend, its a fun place, full of great people, great food and the stuff is often of very good quality at very low prices. Sure you'll find some 'blah' stuff too, but the search is well worth it when you find your bargain.

I have collected a few vintage stuff in time (over a few months), and I will show them to you, oh yes I will!

Accessories - added up to circa 10Euros

Tommy Hilfiger notebook for hubby, a meer 2Euros (soft leather)

I literally grabbed this bag for 10Euros before the lady changed her mind :) = LOVE

4 Euros

5 Euros

4 Euros

My jewellery case - not vintage (Dunnes Store), but in theme with the above

So there you have it! Grab yourself a bargain if you're into vintage, this is a place for you to be...who knows maybe I'll see you there sometime!

A special day

Hello lovely ladies!

I had such a lovely day, it's my 5th year wedding anniversary today, and my lovely husband waited for me with these babies:

And they came in this little bag...fabulous!

Ahhhh, tulips, they're my favourite flowers...just plain gorgeous!

Note to self:
On your anniversary day, don't give out to hubby for forgetting about it...just wait 5 minutes, you never know when tulips are going to 'pop out' and make you feel like c--p! Sorry love!

Another positive thing today was a visit to ' La Croissanterie' in Stephens Green Shopping Centre...They make fabulous sandwiches, and cakes, and croissants (hence the name), and....their FLANS ('famous flan' as they call it), oh, their flans... are just 'to die for'!

Yum-yum!

How was your day? Oh, I hope you had a lovely one as well...do share!!!

Dr. Organic Tea Tree Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Let us talk haircare.

My hair type: - fine/thin,  dry, easily frizzed , dyed with Lush's 'Caca' Henna. I've also been experiencing constant hair loss for some time now, don't really know the reason behind this.

Considering I have dry  hair, in the past few months I started noticing a more oilier scalp, leading to washing my hair  almost everyday (a no-no for me)...I was introduced to the above by my sister-in-law, who actually didn't find Dr. Organic Tea Tree Shampoo very helpful for her oily hair.

Holland & Barretts, € 6.89 each / 250ml.

My thoughts:

Step 1 - Washing:
The shampoo itself doesn't lather as well as your typical supermarket shampoo brands, and has that strong tea tree smell (that I, for one, quite like). When rinsing, your hair feels clean, but dry & tangled, so I would recommend using the conditioner with it (I tried it with a different brand of conditioner too, and it works just as well).

Step 2 - Drying:
My hair still feels tangled after being washed, but as soon as I start coaming my hair with a regular hair brush, it detangles in a jiffy & call me 'crazy', but I think it dries up in a shorter amount of time too.

Final Result:'Wow!'
My hair feels and looks silky, squeeky clean, mirorr - shiny and not as frizzy as usual - I still use another anti-frizz product, but other than that  I can honestly say these are the best shampoo +conditioner I have ever tried; sure, you only get 250ml for c. €7, but I love this brand and I will keep re-purchasing, for the sake of my 'luscious locks' - "because they're worth it!".

Have you ever tried this brand?

Dior Cannage Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hello again! Phew, three posts in one day, nicely done! This will be a short post though.

I am here to talk about the first Dior palette that I own, and let me tell you it will be the last one too!

Great colours, great packaging, but the texture is very chalky, not pigmented enough, full of glitter, all the worse you could expect from eyeshadows are incorporated in this...sorry, I really wanted to love thee.

For the ripping-off price of them eyeshadows, I would very much prefer to buy Essence products, for they will perform a better job at the cost of 'nada'.

I also bought the 'DiorShow' Mascara together with Eyeliner gift set over the Christmas period, for 21Euro. Did I like them? NO. Well, actually I am fine with the mascara, it does the job of painting your eyelashes black, but the bloody eyeliner does nothing for my waterline or upper eye lids, just won't do the job. Again, I have an eyeliner from Essence that's brilliant - sure it smudges a bit and not that long lasting, but at least I don't have to poke my eye out to get some colour on!!!

Ladies, I tell you, no more Dior makeup for me!!!
But just to end this on a more positive note, I do like their clothes & accessories - not that I'll ever own one, but hey, life goes on!!!

Life smells great!

Oh, of course this will be a perfume post :) What else?. New additions that is!

I can honestly say I own over 25 perfumes (between 25-30) - leaving out the ones I gave away as pressies to people less obsessed with perfumes than I am.

I would like to start this with a confession: I did not purchase all of these  myself, my husband does that all the time - spoils me to bits, because he looooves me (I guess) - "JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS OUT, THEY PULL ME BACK IN!' - love this line (Al Pacino - 'The Godfather').

Back to our business, here are the new additions to the family:

Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' - a lovely floral/green scent

Strawberry, violet leaf, pink grapefruit, gardenia, violet, jasmine, white wood, vanilla and mosk. I bought it during the Christmas sales from Arnotts, for 36Euros. It is the refillable / purse version, with 15 ml + 20 ml, and I always carry it around in my bag. I love the scent, its very 'green', to my nose at least.

 Chanel 'Chance Eau Tendre'

Jasmine, Grapefruit, Quince, Hyacinth, Musk, Iris, Virginia Cedar and Amber...And it smells almost exactly the same as 'Daisy'...It is a bit less 'green' and more floral than 'Daisy' - I wanted this perfume for soooo long - Did I buy this? No, my husband bought it for me for 'Valentines Day', God Bless him! I absolutely love this perfume!

 Vera Wang 'Look'

Mandarin orange, green notes, Litchi, Green Apple, Lily, Freesia, Jasmine, Vanilla, Musk, Oakmoss, Patchouli. I also wanted this perfume for a while now. This is my Christmas scent, its so yummy, I could lash it on all day. I bought it from TK Maxx,  together with the body lotion which has tiny sparkle particles in it and feels very luxurious on (for 46Euro - both).

 And finally, Dior 'J'Adore'

Magnolia, Melon, Peach, Pear, Bergamont, Mandarin Orange - just a few ingredients.
O.M.G.! It's soooo long lasting, I ADORE it! Lovely smell, very close to beating Coco Mademoiselle in my 'favourite perfume' competition - honestly now I have two perfumes that I equally love, cannot choose between them. Also a gift from my 'better half', for Christmas.

Without hesitation, the award for 'Hubby of the Year' goes to my dear beloved husband. Yay!!!

What's your favourite perfume???

What a lovely day...

Hello lovely ladies!!! Sory I've been missing for so long, but I am back!

What a lovely day it was today in Dublin! Sunshine everywhere, spring is looking good from where I stand! We spent our day in Phoenix Park with our two lovely dogs (Milko & Minnie), and we had such a great time outdoors...I'm sure they would confirm that in a jiffy.

Hope you are well - What did you do today? Go on, share...
