Oh, Mon Dior!!!

Hello ladies! I'm back from a long holiday, and with me I brought home a little treat for yours truly - from duty free...yes, I desperately needed a treat. Introducing to you my new fabulous Dior Cannage Eyeshadow Palette.

Priced at 48euro, the palette looks amazing, ah, the colours, the quality, the glam!

I am not really used to treats like this, so I am thankful to my husband, who encourages my addictions everytime he sees that child like look in my eyes that says 'Could I? Would I? Should I???'. Oh well, after all who's to say when enough is enough? Now, the colours as mentioned are gorgeous, but did I try them on? No, I did not. It takes time. I barely touched the eyeshadows with my fingertips (for the sake of the swatch-photo), scared I would ruin the whole ensemble. I will however do this tomorrow, and will of course snap a few mug shots (as in a lot, until I get one right) and show you how they look on.

Hope everyone is doing well and that September chill doesn't affect you too much. Just hold on to summer by wearing your fave bright lipstick (as I do) and until next time, stay fabulous in any weather!!!

Yours, ArtDonatella

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Review

I love primers (considering I have only tried three so far)...I tried in the past 'Prep and Prime' from MAC and  Gosh Velvet Touch Primer. It was time for a new sudden purchase, don't you just love those?

So, on my way back from Portugal, I Sky-shopped (on the plane that is, not in the airport) the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Did not really expect much, actually I wasn't even that excited- it's just a primer, I thought. I bought the set with the travel size 15ml one + full size 30ml for euro 26 - bargain-licious, long live Aerlingus!

The full size one comes with a pump, in a surprisingly light container - plasticky feel, not glass.

Now onto the review...the primer looks like this:

Thick gel like consistency, very velvety, you would swear it's Gosh's Velvet Touch Primer...but swear  not my friends, for its far from it. It quickly gets absorbed into the skin, better said it dissapears, a little going a long way to cover the bare canvas that is your skin.

Once applied it feels soft, not greasy, even, pores no more, you could nearly get away without wearing any foundation (nearly I said, at least for me). Foundation goes on smoothly, bla bla bla, ya-da-ya-da-ya-da...the usual.

What is most miraculous about it is the brave battle it gives throughout the day to keep your makeup looking flawless, yes I said FLAWLESS. Zero shine, gorgeous complexion, stays put like a hero.

In conclusion, how did I live before this? Now that's what I call an efficient primer, and I know I haven't tried the whole lot of them, but then again, you always know when 'IT' is the ONE (you don't go out trying everything, do you, do you?....get the allusion? :) ).

What is your fave primer? Do you even use one?

Back from holiday...

Hello everyone, I am back from my holiday in sunny Portugal, Quarteira. Hope you're all keeping well.

My hubby and I had a lot of 'chill out time', afternoon naps, but most of all SUN in the beautiful Quarteira... Lashed the Nivea SPF 30 & sometimes 50 on, and hit the pool - we only 'inspected' the beach from time to time to check if its still there (as in 2 minutes walk from our hotel). Here are some pics , if you're curious that is...

City view from our hotel room's balcony- on the 11th floor

Ocean view

Hotel 'Luna Atismar'

Ahhhhhhh, breathtaking!

So yeah, there you go, it's all finished- to my despair, but it's always good to be back home!

Lots of kisses....Yours, ArtDonatella

I am wearing a dress / top from Topshop, cropped trousers from F&F for Tesco, 'Bronx' shoes,  a gorgeous bag from River Island and Steve Madden sun glasses from TK Maxx. So there you go, that's all folks!

The Apple of My Eye

I decided to do a more personal post, and so I am proud to introduce to you -  MILKO - my pride and joy, my baby, my angel!!!

My baby husky, a little camera shy, only about a month old...Aw, Bless!

Tick-tack-tick-tack...

...Two months old...

This kinda looks like a passport photo, haha ...circa 4 months old

Ooooh, quite a big fella at six month, don't you think?

And finally today, one and half year old...you didn't see that coming, did you???

This giant is my best friend, the joy of my everyday not so adventurous life, he has me all melt down at a wiggle of a tail, and I spoil him to bits...Aw, gotta love animals, I am a total animal lover, all kinds, types and shapes, I believe animals are amazing, and my Milko is for sure my Angel, and not just because he's white!!!

Do you have any pets?

Oh, so BRIGHT!!!

Bright lippies...Yay for these little joy bringers, fabulously fashionable this year -that's what they say, but it was in trend last year too, I believe we can all remember Revlon Matte Lipstick Line from last summer - mmmmmmm just gorgeous!

Every once in a while I wake up and make-up with the need to light up my face (metaphorically speaking that is), and so, a bright lipstick will do the trick for me. Now, I am not a nude lip kinda girl, and I do like my colours when it comes to lipstick, eyes - not so adventurous, give me plain & boring brown eyeshadow anytime; lips however need some va-va-voom in my book.

Here are some of my favourite bright lippies, in no particular order...

Elizabeth Arden Lipstick - don't know what shade, the small label on the bottom has worn off

Bloom Lipstick in 'Bella' - please excuse the blurry pic

Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects in 'Go Go Red'

Revlon Matte in '005 Strawberry Suede' - last summer's staple shade

Revlon Matte in 'Pink About It'

'17' Lasting Fix Lipstick in 'Pink Power' - matte finish bright pink

So there you go,  part of my bright collection, I also own a few orange shades, but the above mentioned are for sure my favourites out of the bunch.

What are your favourite bright lippies? Would love to know...have you any recommendations?

'You Complete Me' Beauty Products

Hello everyone. I thought I'd do a quick post on my 'can't live without'/'holy grail' beauty products, and here they are:

1. Foundation / Concealer - Estee Lauder's Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body SPF15 - see my previous review on it

2. Mascara - L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black - a very black mascara indeed, perfect formulation, not to drying, not to watery, it lasts longer than other mascaras. I also purchased the other Voluminous in Black, but I find it to be of a very, very different formulation to this one - maybe its just me, but it either works for you or it doesn't

3. Lipstick - Revlon Matte 'Pink About It' Lipstick - Ahhh, my summer lipstick - together with all the other brights in my collection - will definitely repurchase this one when its finished!

4. Lip Conditioning - Blistex Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 9- no other treatment can sooth & nourish my lips better, without being greasy at all - Eight Hour Cream - step aside, there's a new best friend in town!!!

5. Eyeshadow - not a hard choice at all, very simple I might say- Stila's Pan Eyeshadow in 'Twig' - a gorgeous brown colour with golden shimmer , very smooth, very pigmented, makes my eyes look sooo amazing

6. Perfume - Hmmm, it must be Chanel's 'Coco Mademoiselle'
My thoughts are hooked now on Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre - I have a good feeling I will just wake up one day and decide to take advantage, yet again, of the fact that I am an adult and that I have my own money, and BUY I.T.! ha, such a material girl...

Overall I am done, obviously I love all my makeup and perfumes, but when it comes to repurchasing, ha- I dunno, I dunno! But all the above, are my 'you complete me' beauty products.

I told, now its your turn to tell. What are your most favourite makeup items?

P.O.T.D. (Purchases Of The Day)

I am back with a POTD post.

I purchased some makeup from the Calvin Klein beauty line, teamed up with Markwins International - yeah the crowd that mostly does make-up sets...so no surprise to tell you that these items were in two  make-up sets, cases to be more precise.

Above you will find:

1. Elizabeth Arden Colour Intrigue Effects Lipsitck in 'Go Go Red' from the 'Go Red For Women Campaign'
- sure, not a CK makeup, but I purchased it on the same day (how lovely of me).

Gorgeous red, fabulous, probably the most intense red I own...and I own lots of reds! Amazing packaging too, very sleek.

2. CK Flush With Desire Velvet Blush in 'Attraction 103'

Looks scary in photos, and I tell you ladies, it is scary in reality too...very pigmented, I am afraid to try it on at this early stage

3. CK Tempting Duo Intense Eyeshadow in 'Pink Dust 206'

Comes in handy, with a sponge applicator and a tiny brush

4. CK Delicious Light Glistening Lip Gloss in 'Oolong 305'

5. CK Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick in 'Darling 106'

6. CK Delicious Truth Sheer Lipstick in 'Dimension 209'

7. CK Delicious Truth Sheer Lipstick in 'Trendsetter 203'

8. CK Fully Delicious Sheer Plumping Gloos in 'Flair 214'

9. CK Runway Radiance Illuminating Cream in 'Bronze Glow'

10. CK Infinite Hydration Moisturizing Foundation in 'Cafe Au Lait 104'

11. CK Endless Creme Concealer in 'Ginger 206'

Comes with a sponge applicator

12. CK Tempting Glimmer Sheer Creme Eyeshadow in 'Retro Bronze 309'

Wow, this looks amazing, haven't tried it yet, so looking forward to it

Phew, almost done...they all came in two gorgeous makeup cases, and I paid for them in TK Maxx, 24.99 Euro for each set. The Elizabeth Arden lipstick was 5.99 Euro...not bad, I am the Queen of Bargains, but then again, everyone that shops at TK Maxx is!

So far I have tried the sheer lipstick in 'Trendsetter', and it is ah-mazing, very creamy and moisturizing, has very small blue-ish shimmer in it too, which makes teeth appear whiter, aha!

Will try these in the coming weeks, and will keep you all posted!
